Spring has sprung

Spring, finally!! What a difference a day or two makes. Who would have thought everything was covered in a blanket of snow. I found a lovely patch of Crocus flowers, on the school run duties, and couldn’t resist going back later in the day and capturing their delicate beauty.   With the threat of a white Easter looming, it was lovely to be able to capture some colour. If Spring flowers can be this vibrant, roll on Summer!     Continue reading Spring has sprung

Snow Dog

Snow….Again! March 18th. It’s here again! There’s no dog like a snow dog….I’m sure he must wonder what on earth has happened!   We had a walk around Chulmleigh earlier and everything was looking quite pretty, with the school being closed tomorrow I’m sure all the boys will be out in it again! Above is the view looking down over the wonderful Golf Course in Chulmleigh, from Leigh Road. Below is a small selection from our walk. Continue reading Snow Dog

Rufus

Rufus, the fourth child! Let me introduce you to Rufus, the loving, loyal and somewhat bonkers, springer spaniel. Rufus is three, and a much loved family pet. Like our boys, he’s not camera shy, and loves to strike a pose (with of course a treat in hand too). He’s been brilliant since the day he came home with us as a tiny pup. Quick to learn, obedient (selective hearing when it comes to me asking him to do things!) and he loves to please. Rufus loves nothing more than fuss and love and can’t resist giving people a nice cheesy … Continue reading Rufus

Bristol Zoo

Bristol Zoo So, the middle Son turned 5! After most of the household being poorly with flu, organising a party slipped past us and just wasn’t possible in the end. So after Master Indecisive decided where he’d like to go for the day instead, it was Bristol Zoo that took his fancy. Now, I love the Big Cats, I always have done. The shots you see on this page are what I wanted and had envisioned coming home with. To say these are photographs I’m extremely proud of is an understatement, its not often I’ll compliment my own work, but … Continue reading Bristol Zoo

Haynes International Motor Museum

Last year we had a family day out and ventured off to the Haynes International Motor Museum. We had a brilliant day out, and of course the camera came too. Cars were a subject I hadn’t really photographed before, so I was keen to see where this trip was going to take me. From old classics, to the red room and on to the formula one display (and lots more in-between), it was a great journey through history to the current time in the motor world. Below you’ll find a few pieces of my work from that day and I … Continue reading Haynes International Motor Museum

Simple Daffodil

Here we have a simple Daffodil. Now the daffodil may not be everyone’s first choice of a favourite flower, especially my mum who would tell you its a weed, but with this photograph I wanted to portray the more, elegant and delicate side. Set against the black background, I feel this really helps the Daffodil spring, excuse the pun, to life, like you could reach into the screen and touch it! Simple yet somewhat effective.
